This little tale was originally created for my mother who had been suffering from depression. Over the years, several friends and hospice workers said the book could bring comfort to others. May The Legacy of Christmas bring warmth to your soul and hope for your future.

Blessings and love,
~Laurie Connable

Most authors write their own kudos, but Laurie Connable found it difficult to put her life into words. She would tell you she lives in Hilo, Hawaii, but would not say much more except to invite you to her beautiful home for some energy tea.

No matter how busy she gets, Laurie always finds the time to bring cheer and the enduring presence of Aloha to those around her. Her life is exemplified and highlighted by kind actions and good deeds which make others feel their utmost best. Here is what some of Laurie’s good friends say about her:

Laurie has been influenced by her creative childhood in Hawaii and her extensive travels around the world. She has been featured in numerous national home and garden publications and has recorded three children’s CDs.

Active in her community, she is currently a Master Gardener, sings in a trio, the Alphatones, and with the New Hope Hilo worship team. Laurie also helps entertain and encourage local senior groups.

Laurie has always been a loving, inclusive, creative woman. Everyone who knows her appreciates her generosity of spirit. She has tender heart and has a sense of compassion for those that need her uplifting ways, which are often more than just kind words. She has always included humor and an ability to laugh at situations and defuse tension.

Laurie has a strong sense of self-love and is so optimistic that she will not be brought down by negativism or doubt. She takes the local expression, 'If can, can. If no can, no can,' into 'if no can, will find a way.' When she has a creative idea, don't bother telling her it won't work. Where there is a will - there is a way. Laurie has proven this in her life over and over again.
Margot Johnson Honolulu, Hawaii

Laurie has a love for her family and for people of all ages from little children to the very old. She sees something beautiful in everyone, and she is always motivated to come alongside anyone hurting and offer prayers and encouragement.

She doesn't just 'feel' the love she has for people; she finds ways to reach out to them in creative ways through her music, her art, and even her garden. She finds joy in creating a beautiful atmosphere where people share the spirit of loving God.

Laurie knows what it feels like to slip into a place of fear and discouragement, and she knows you do not have to stay there. Christmas, the birth of the Savior, Jesus Christ, is more than just a nice tradition to her, it carries the message of hope and love, which she strives to share with everyone she meets.
Leslie Lewis San Diego, California

Not only is Laurie a devoted mother and a doting grand-mother, but she is also a an abiding friend, a talented musician, a colorful artist, a gifted gardener, a God centered woman of faith, and so much more.

Reading this story, The Legacy of Christmas, is a breathtaking way to get an up-close personal look into Laurie's heart. It is revealing of the amazing thoughts, attitudes, and love she has for others. I hope this offers a glimpse of her kind spirit, so that you can enjoy her book as I do!
